Skirt Selections

Most successful bass fisherman will find themselves using a spinnerbait or a jig at some point during a course of a days fishing. I like to take into account a couple of factors when determining my skirt selections.

My Favorite 5

When I’m out fun fishing I like to throw a lot of different baits and have fun experimenting and trying to get better at all the techniques but when it comes to tournament time I seem to count on just a handful of baits. You should choose your baits based on conditions but depending on the season I seem to have all or a couple of my favorite 5 baits on deck.

Bassmaster Weekend Series

Here’s what Ranger Boat’s Collegiate Angler Stephen Pineau has to say about the Bassmatser Weekend Series Tournament at Lake Palestine in Tyler ,Texas 1/23/09.

Anglers will be faced with a nasty cold front when they launch on Saturday morning. Surface temps of the stained water range from 48-50 degrees , with air temps reaching 80 degrees.

Some of the best fishing can be had during the winter months. Wintertime fishing typically isn’t a numbers game. A lot of times you get a couple of bites a day but they are usually some nice fish. There is always that chance though that you can hit it right and load the boat in minutes. Typically my wintertime fishing centers around four different baits. The jig, jerkbait, dropshot, and a wacky rigged senko.
